How the Studio Began
Stucco Sole G opened its doors on Corso Garibaldi in 2011, when founders Elena Marchetti and Paolo Rinaldi noticed a gap between generic landscaping firms and architects who rarely visited sites after handing over drawings. They built a studio that stays present from the first chalk line to the final lime wash.
The name reflects our founding craft — traditional stucco applied by hand to parapets, planters, and boundary walls — combined with sole, the sun that governs every orientation decision we make on a Sanremo terrace.
Our Design Philosophy
We believe a terrace should feel like a natural extension of the interior, not an afterthought bolted onto a façade. Proportion, shade, and surface texture matter as much as furniture selection. We design circulation paths wide enough for evening gatherings and quiet morning coffee alike.
Sustainability for us means longevity: materials that survive salt spray, drainage that protects historic structures below, and planting that needs sensible irrigation rather than constant replacement.
The Team Behind Your Terrace
Eight people work from our Garibaldi studio — two lead designers, a landscape architect, a technical draughtsperson, and site coordinators who speak Italian, French, and English. We collaborate with a fixed network of twelve local tradespeople rather than rotating anonymous contractors.
Consultation fees for an initial on-site visit and written summary begin at €380, credited toward any design package signed within thirty days.
Recognition and Community
Our work has been featured in Casa Liguria and exhibited at the Sanremo Flower Festival pavilion in 2019 and 2023. Beyond private residences, we have contributed terrace restoration guidance to the Comune di Sanremo heritage advisory panel.
We sponsor the annual Giardini in Festa open-garden weekend, offering free shading audits to three community spaces selected by local neighbourhood associations each spring.
Visit Us in Sanremo
Our studio welcomes appointments Tuesday through Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome on Thursday afternoons when the team reviews material samples and planting trials on the rooftop demonstration terrace behind our office.
Whether you own a holiday flat near the harbour or a family home in the Collina, we invite you to share your vision over espresso and a stack of stone samples pulled from our Ligurian quarry partners.
