Surface & Paving Choices
Stone remains the dominant terrace surface along the Riviera — Portuguese limestone for its non-slip finish when wet, local slate for darker contemporary schemes, and reclaimed terracotta for period properties. We specify joint widths and fall gradients that move water toward concealed drains without creating trip hazards.
Timber decking appears on raised platforms where under-deck ventilation is adequate. Iroko and thermo-treated ash are our preferred species, installed with stainless fixings and removable panels for drain access. Supply and install guidance typically adds €120–€185/m² depending on subframe complexity.
Shade, Wind & Privacy
